Mark Long

A native of North Carolina, Mark graduated from Wake Forest University in 1983 and Southwestern Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas in 1986. He has also earned credits toward a MA in Christian Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Mark’s rich ministry background includes 22 years of service at First Baptist Church, Charlottesville, VA, where he most recently served as Senior Associate Pastor. He also worked in the areas of discipleship, assimilation, and family ministry, as well as evangelism, preaching, and mentoring. In addition to serving as Campus Pastor at the Union Hall campus, he will also lead in the area of local ministries, including Love Franklin County, for all campuses. He loves to disciple and equip believers in order to engage them in mission opportunities both locally and internationally. Throughout his ministry Mark has held fast to the promise found in Proverbs 3:5-6.

Mark and his wife Nancy have four adult children; Katie (and husband, Cale), Daniel, Luke, and Courtney. An avid sports fan, he also enjoys time on the lake with family and friends.
